STERLING SOLUTIONS, HELPING TO MAKE THE WORKPLACE SAFER
Sterling Solutions’ commitment
Here at Sterling Solutions we take both our position as employer, and the duties and responsibilities which accompany it very seriously. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 states that as an employer, we must do all that is deemed "reasonably practicable" to ensure the health and safety of our employees. To assist us in complying with this and other relevant legislation, we have designed a specific Health and Safety Management System.
Sterling Solutions provide all employees with;
• A Health and Safety handbook
• A 24/7 help-line 0870 754 1166, which gives you advice and guidance on any Health and Safety matter you may be faced with, in your workplace
• A full accident reporting system to comply with current working regulations.
The Sterling Solutions Health and Safety Management System
The management system has been designed to assist us to ensure Sterling Solutions employees are operating within safe working environments, in a safe and healthy manner. We are able to achieve this by providing our employees with information and instruction on a range of health and safety issues. We also offer competent one to one advice on any health and safety related matter and a basic level of supervision regarding the health and safety provisions of our employees’ individual workplaces.
Our Health and Safety Management system is under constant review to ensure it continues to provide an efficient means of managing the health and safety of our employees. If you would like to know more about this or any other aspect of our health and safety management please do not hesitate to contact our Compliance Department - 0870 754 1111

Helpline
While the handbook provides our employees with a point of reference for detailed information and instruction regarding health and safety, we recognise that there is no substitute for competent one to one advice. With this in mind, we have developed a service to ensure if our employees need advice and guidance, they can get it. The Sterling Solutions Health and Safety advice line can be accessed by all employees 24 hrs a day, seven days a week for competent advice, guidance and assistance on any health and safety related issue.
The handbook and helpline allow us to provide our employees with the information they need on basic health and safety as well as advice and guidance on any day to day issues which may arise. To accompany this process of information and instruction we have also identified a means to provide a basic level of supervision to our employees individual working environments. This supervision takes the form of regular surveys, circulated to our employees at periodic intervals. The questionnaires are designed to gain an insight into the health and safety provisions present within their individual working environments.
Accident Reporting System
Another important part of our management system is the accident reporting procedure we operate. Under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations 1995 (RIDDOR), Sterling Solutions as an employer is required to report certain accidents, incidents and cases of disease involving our employees to the relevant enforcing body. In order to comply with these duties we have implemented an accident reporting procedure which allows us to gather the necessary information quickly and efficiently, enabling the suitable report to be provided to the relevant enforcing body within the required timescale.
