ELIGIBILITY TO WORK IN THE UK

Sterling Techserv takes a positive stance to compliance – we aim to protect your welfare and to meet Government and industry regulations. Sterling Techserv follow the 2004 legislation for UK Employers as best practice, a law preventing illegal working, which came in force on the 1st May 2004.

Sterling Techserv has a policy that all its sub-contractors must be able to verify their eligibility to work in the UK. Sterling Techserv are not obliged to undertake such a check as we are not an employer but do so as best practice. All registrations must be accompanied by a passport as proof of eligibility to work in the UK (we recommend you send this by registered post), which Sterling Techserv will return by registered post, or alternatively a copy of your passport, countersigned by a professional person*.

*Engineer (with professional qualifications), Surveyor, Trade Union Officer, Chairman/Director/Manager of a ltd company, Accountant, Barrister, Solicitor, Teacher, Dentist, Police Officer, Nurse (SRN and SEN), Civil Servant, Officer of Armed Services (active or retired) or someone of similar standing. If you are unable to provide a passport, please contact our Applications Department on 0870 754 1111 to discuss which alternative documentation is suitable as proof of Eligibility to Work in the UK.

EU Nationals
If you are a national of Bulgaria or Romania please provide a copy of your accession card.

Non EU Nationals
If you are not an EU national, you must provide copies of your work permit, or other approval issued by the Work Permits UK.
